Studio nr. 5

Bobbi Brown is spreading her arms wider and wider in The Netherlands. Yesterday she opened her fifth studio in de PC Hooftstraat in Amsterdam, where here products will be sold. So I joined her 'Healthy Cocktail Party' in honor of this launch and I met my new BFF: the macaron girl. Seriously, I want to be with her. All day. Every day.

The FUSE Fashion Fun Fair on the 21st of April was a huge success! The fabulous decor (think: hotpink carpet, flowers and balloons), fun games, loads of great prizes and a beautiful bright sunshine all day. Can you ask for more?

April prepares her green traffic light and the world thinks GO. Is this springtime or what? It's spring fever. And oh - I don't quite know what it is what I do want, but it just fairly makes my heart ache… I want it so!

When I say Tommy...

What a blast! Tommy Hilfiger organized their yearly fashion event in Amsterdam, to celebrate the summer collection of Hilfiger Denim. It’s not a standard fashion show! It’s actually just a party, where “famous” Dutch people wear Hilfiger Denim – instead of models walking on and off a catwalk. Also there was a great line up: Tommy Sunshine, Sky Ferreira, Holy Gost and national heroes De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig. The whole fashion scene was attending, despite of the fact that it was a Thursday night. Chapeau! When I say Tommy… you say HILFIGER!

FALKE shop opening

Socks, tights, hold ups and sportswear. Falke has it all.

With 2300 points of distribution through The Netherlands, yesterday Falke opened their first exclusive mono-brand store in Eindhoven. The famous German leg wear brand, with shops in Berlin and Hamburg, considered to open a shop in The Netherlands for a long time. Commercial director of Falke Netherlands Henry Kloosman: Since I started working for Falke, I had the ambition to open at least 5 Falke stores in The Netherlands. This is just the beginning.

I love fashion and I love H&M. But this window totally stopped me of entering the store today. Fashion FAUX!!!

Favourite stay in NY

When you’re visiting Washington DC, you HAVE to make a pitstop at Georgetown Cupcakes. Unfortunately the place got so popular that you have to stand in line for hours to get in… Why it’s popular? Because the cupcakes are really tasty. And… the owners have their own reality television show in the US, about how they transformed the cupcakery into a sweeping success.

Goodbye!

After 3 years of working my ass off at the most luxurious magazine of The Netherlands... it was time to say goodbye! People will call me crazy, but I had to move on. I’m still young and finding out where to go and who to be, so I found myself a new challenge: PR! To be continued…

Kate Moss' new addiction

This year seems to have started quite well for Kate Moss who has recently struck a deal with luxury brand Dior and will now be promoting the Dior Addict Lipstick. The luxury brand picks the best brand ambassadors for their products. After selecting Natalie Portman for the Miss Dior Chérie campaign, they chose Kate for the Dior Beauté Line.

The new ad campaign is only set to debut in fashion magazines in May, however in order to build anticipation and excitement for the new products some photos have already been released to keep things interesting. And also a fabulous short video - starring Kate Moss and music from Duran Duran - will be revealed soon! In the meantime... enjoy these two teasers:

Clémence Poésy is wearing big Balenciaga sunglasses, a vintage trilby and a navy vest combined with a sleezy shirt.

Church meets Glamour

Eight beautiful women. Each working in de luxury industry. Together. In a church.
Why? Because I thought it was the perfect background for this photo shoot, where photographer Elmar Krop made portraits of these women. And it turned out stunning! But also very cold… Although you won’t see that in the pictures. Check out the result at the next issue of Miljonair magazine, the 10th of March.

Francicso van Benthum

Francisco van Benthum showed his White Label collection for the second time at Boutyq; a style platform where four designers came together to show their collection. Francisco was the star of the evening with his refined image of men, where they always look stylish and dandy. Slim suits, in satin and velour, combined with the preppy look and sporty influences, like short blazers and oversized t-shirts. Striking were the flood pants and the wet hair-do’s.

Skulls and Kisses at Boutyq

Lovely cupcakes by Mynth Events at Boutyq - February 1st at Loods 6, Amsterdam. Francisco van Benthum, Jeroen van Tuyl, Jan Boelo and Unconditional did a fashion show, separately from AIFW. What a blast! I'm craving for more! (cupcakes)

Fashion Week Part III

"..So come on, escape with me. To a world where magic can be.." In the MC theatre, Ilja Visser showed her ‘Escapism’ collection, that was inspired by Cirque de Burlesque. A world of illusion, fantasy and theatrical parody. Even in the foyer was a cirqisch atmosphere, where we got some cocktails, scroppino’s, cotton candy and popcorn. The models were showing Ilja’s AW 11/12 collection at trampolines, ladders, swings in a décor of lights that illustrated a circus tent. Personally I totally loved this show, because it was very playful, surprising and renewing. But I love Ilja anyway... Whatever.

I heart my work

I'm working on the catwalkreport for March, so I'm checking out the new Spring Summer collections of 2011... And that's just like eating an ice cream. Or swimming in a bright blue sea. Pure enjoyment. 100% pleasure.
